Portable ECAT monitor worn comfortably during daily activities.
About this service
What Is External Cardiac Ambulatory Telemetry ?
- External Cardiac Ambulatory Telemetry (ECAT) is an advanced heart rhythm monitoring system that continuously records your heartbeat over several days. It is designed to detect and capture abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias), whether or not you are experiencing symptoms.
- A small portable monitor is worn on the body and automatically records your heart’s electrical activity. The ECG data is transmitted to a communicator device, which securely sends the information to a monitoring center. The data is then reviewed and interpreted by your cardiologist as part of your ongoing cardiac evaluation.
- ECAT is especially helpful for patients with intermittent symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, fainting, or unexplained fatigue that may not appear during a brief office ECG.
What to expect
The monitor is lightweight and worn comfortably under clothing for several days. You can continue most normal daily activities while your heart rhythm is continuously monitored.
Continuous ECG data securely transmitted and reviewed by medical professionals.
